Our story
Terka and I met in the first year of an eight-year grammar school. We sat in the same classroom, and neither of us knew that fate was only just opening its game. We truly got to know each other a few years later at university, in theatres and in conversations that went on until morning.
Every good story needs a twist, and ours took the shape of a kerb. Terka wore high heels to one wedding, so she handed me the keys to her car and took the passenger seat. On the way I clipped a kerb, and the tyre was flat. Terka was properly cross with me that day, and for a while it looked as though our friendship had gone as flat as that tyre. But I did not give up.
When Terka later left for her Erasmus in Santiago de Compostela, I packed a bag, brought my friend Šimon along and set off across half of Europe to see her. In the city where pilgrims have always come in search of what truly matters, I found it too. Under the Spanish sun it suddenly became clear that we belong together.
The day before Valentine's Day 2023 we finally said it out loud, and since then we have been writing one story instead of two. We soon moved in together, and an ordinary flat became a home. On our first big trip, to Paris, I left my ID card at home and only reached the city of love that evening. Since then we know two things: the other one is worth waiting for, and documents are worth checking twice.
And then came 10 June 2025. No fireworks, no violins, just a lazy summer afternoon and a nap together, after which I asked Terka the most important question. She said yes. Now a new chapter awaits, and we would be so happy if you were there with us.
